The Killers and Knight and Day

It's pretty amazing how stagnant Hollywood has become as of late, films nowadays must be either be a sequel, remake, adaptation, or just be a completely unoriginal.  Released last week at the box office was the action-comedy The Killers starring Katherine Heigi who beings to date the man of her dreams (Ashton Kutcher) but there's one catch he's a killer.

Releasing in just two weeks from now you also have the Action-comedy Knight and Day with Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz.

The Killers starring Cameron who beings to date the man of her dreams (Cruise) but there's one catch he's a killer.  Yes these films have the exact same premise, only difference being you have Cruise and Diaz who were bankable actors trying to make themselves viable stars still whereas Kutcher and Heigi are trying to elevate themselves to that elite A list celebrity.  Out of all the movies coming out this summer there is only a handful of films that are truly original.  You have Christopher Nolan's Inception, The Expendables, Scott Pilgrim Vs The World, Dinner for Schmucks, and Despicable Me. I'm hoping that the first two on that list really do well so that Hollywood really does begin to take some chances and let some original movies idea open during the Summer season.
